To ensure this trust, a rigorous and independent global system has been established to verify technical competence and compliance with international standards. This framework is defined by European Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008, which ensures the competence, independence, and impartiality of certification, inspection, and verification bodies, as well as testing and calibration laboratories. In Italy, Accredia is the national accreditation body.
